ALL HAVE REFLECTIVE STRIPES AT LOWER BACK AND KNEES

CHEQUERED STRIPE - HIGHLY REFLECTIVE

These are key features, in the likely event this suit is worn in poor visibility, to be seen is so very important.

Even in bright daylight, the chequered flag stripe (WON-Z, geddit ?) commands respect, the universal sign for both winning & caution

The features that set us apart

Instead of being designed by the fashion department, this was designed by a motorcyclist, 40 years in the need of it, pictures to come, care & maintenance soon, we are testing various brands

1/ Easy to get into, on the road, in the rain

2/ 100 % waterproof, maintainable, repairable, to keep, not disposable

3/ Simple over glove wrist, hands dry

4/ Stowable, simply rolls or folds flat

MATERIALS & CARE

Outer Shell --

500D woven nylon fabric with laminated (bonded) breathable waterproof tex layer and DWR coating

Stretch panels at back and knee

elasticated nylon with 600D waterproof woven stretch nylon inner layer for comfort and longevity

Waterproof zips

Rubber backed zips to prevent water getting through are covered by welts on main zip and flaps over legs 100% water and draught proof with internal drain flaps and gusset as BELT AND BRACES. If zip seal ever does leak it will be caught & drained before you get wet

Seam sealed

We have deliberately kept seams to an absolute minimum, then sealed every seam . Water tight.

Collar

Neoprene for comfort and sealing

Washing & Maintenance

Wash with product intended for breathable waterproof clothing e.g. Nikwax Tech Wash in machine at 40C, slowest spin or by hand, this also revives DWR (Durable Water Repellent) coating.

Not domestic washing powder, this can clog pores.

If water does not bead on surface after washing retreat the DWR with Nikwax TX Direct or similar.

Dry naturally if possible, drying machine not recommended, this can damage sealing tape, if it starts to lift, seal it with proprietary seam sealer from camping/outdoor/diving specialist, cut any torn tape off.

Zips

Lubricate periodically or if sticky to use .Use zip lube for drysuit or wetsuit e.g. beeswax , carefully working into clean zip. We don't advise silicon spray as it can damage neoprene collar.

Field Repairs

Accidents happen, if you spring a leak from a burn or fall, all is not lost, seam sealing adhesive from any camping shop with work as permanent flexible waterproof glue for patch. Travellers should carry a tube. By nature of event patch will be what you have, piece of inner tube or tube patch should work. All seam sealing glues will recommend cleaning with isopropyl alcohol, clean spirit i.e. vodka or gin will work, don't try beer and definitely not petrol. Drink remainder of bottle, by the time you're awake the glue should be set

The design brief --

to travel light and be prepared for all weather
No bulky linings, nor flimsy PVC shell, no vents to leak nor multitude of pockets.
Most of all to pack tight and pull on quickly, by the side of the road in a sudden storm.

Breathable and waterproof, fold up to packable size approx 1' long 6" diameter, completely draught proof so brilliant against cold even when it's not raining. Job done

One up, three down

Very important note

THESE SUITS ARE NOT MADE TO PROTECT THE RIDER FROM THEMSELVES, ONLY AGAINST THE ELEMENTS. NO CLAIM IS MADE FOR ANY SUPERHUMAN CRASH RESISTANCE, THEY ARE TO BE WORN OVER NORMAL RIDING GEAR, NOT INSTEAD OF. HOWEVER, THEY ARE VERY, VERY TOUGH.
